Abstract

The integration of microneedle (MN) systems with transferosome technology offers a synergistic platform to overcome the stratum corneum barrier, enabling enhanced transdermal delivery of therapeutics. This review elucidates the physicochemical principles, formulation strategies, mechanistic understandings, preclinical and clinical outcomes, safety profiles, and prospects of microneedle-assisted transferosome systems. Emphasis is placed on comparative efficacy, delivery kinetics, and translational opportunities. Tables summarize formulation variables and performance metrics; figures illustrate structural integration and release mechanisms. The review concludes with guidance on regulatory pathways and optimization strategies.
